"We can't do it. We don't fit in... Is this okay?" To every young soul feeling lost, we are starting a massive challenge.

🔥 Our Challenge 🔥 We are creating "Manurusukore"—a community-led school on the Chita Peninsula where everyone can grow just as they are. Our team, all under 29, including our 23-year-old director, is tackling everything from NPO incorporation to school construction.

Why Manurusukore? Standardized schooling has left many facing "social isolation." We want to turn the time spent away from school into "Schole" (Intellectual Leisure)—a time to enrich the soul, not just wait. We believe in nurturing the strength to live happily within the warmth of our local community.

Our Vision In 10 years, we aim to erase the barriers of "truancy" and "disability" from our region through deep local trust. Here, young people from all backgrounds will come together to redefine education and the future of the Chita Peninsula.

Will you join us and create a new future for education together?

【Love Myself】 Chita Peninsula Community-Led School "Manurusukore" Founding Project

Hello, everyone! Nice to meet you. I am Marina Azuchi. We are currently building a new place for learning on the Chita Peninsula, Aichi Prefecture: "Manuru sukore."

The name comes from the Ancient Greek word "Schole," the origin of the word "school." Originally, it didn't mean a place of forced study, but rather "Active Leisure" or "Intellectual Free Time." We believe learning should not be forced; it is an exploration of one's self within freedom.

Who Are We? "kimyo-na-manul" (The Strange Manuls)

We are a youth-led organization (all under 29) who grew up questioning the traditional education system.

From "Support" to "Empowerment"

In a society that says, "Leave no one behind," we believe young people need the strength to not be left behind. Many label us as "weak" or "in need of support" because of labels like truancy, developmental disabilities, or poverty. We disagree. These are our strengths.

What we truly need is not just a "place to stay," but the opportunity to be trusted, to challenge ourselves, and to grow. We need a community where it's okay to fail because your peers will catch you.

Why "Manuru sukore" Now?

Truancy is rising, yet only 8.8% of children use existing support centers. Many young people are facing "social isolation" in a standardized society.

I (Marina) once felt "useless to society" during my time as a social withdrawal (Hikikomori). Even when I tried to start this project, people looked down on me because of my age. We need a place where we can face our anxieties together.
